Busy Month

In October I went to what you call a "HoBo Stew" church function and there were some really neat customs.  The children dressed up for trick or truck and the adults dressed as hobos some better than others.  The took a big pot and each person would bring a can of vegetables and dump into this pot with hot water and meat and they would make what they called "hobo stew"  The neat thing was how they opened there can - they would only cut the lid half way so as to make a handle and use there can as their bowl for eating the soup out of.  This lasted for about two hours and then clean up began.

The Adults would line up all the cars present and load them with candy and treats and the children would to from car to car and receive candy.  This went on till about 10am

The week of October 21 we went to New Hampshire and Vermont and it was wonderful.  We were approximately a week late to see the peek of the Fall colors but that was OK.  We went from place to place looking for covered bridges and boy did we find a lot of them.  These states have outlined maps of those bridges on there National Registrar. There are a lot of Bridges that are not listed and some are harder to find then others.  But is was lots of fun and made our trip worth while.

We also went looking for waterfalls and found three one of which was dry and it was a long ways back to it.  I hiked approximately 2 miles and my husband went probably another half mile and decided it was getting to ruff.  This is just one of the photos we took but it is the best photo I've ever seen of me.  Ha Ha

Our photo club is have a contest and we must present a photo of fire.  It does not matter what the photo is about or how good it is just as long it is of fire.   At our Christmas's party we will have a drawing for all those who have turned in at least 4 photo for the year and your name will be entered into a monthly drawing as well as a Yearly drawing.

See you in the Wilderness.  Enjoy
